Tara Sreekrishnan is an elected member of the Santa Clara County Board of Education, she is the representative of over 250,000 residents of the Trustee Area 2 which cover Cupertino, Saratoga, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, San Jose, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno and Los Altos. As the County School Board Member, Tara manages 270 000 students in 31 districts, and being the financial officer, Tara controls over $300M of a balanced budget. Her dedication to education and career opportunities for the next generation is evident through her professional experience across every level of local government: municipality and, school district, city, county, and state.
Thus, Tara always planned to serve the public in some capacity throughout her childhood and school years. Assembly District 26 is her home where she completed her education through Cupertino Union School District and Fremont Union High School District. From her education she got the aspirations to fight for justice and equal rights as citizens. She still resides in the region firmly dating the ability of public schools to transform individuals and fashion comprehensive endorsement. Tara’s motivation of her desire to engage in public service stemmed from her parents who were immigrants to the U. S. , who understood the importance of education and assisting the community.
