Lynda Deschambault is a passionate conservationist who has accomplished a lot in her field over many years. She has been able to make good contributions at the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) having worked at both national and international levels throughout her career. In this regard, she is trained in complex administrative budgets that entail long-term plans which bring about settlements for local governments, schools, tribes as well as environmental justice communities. She also handled the federal “Community Right to Know” Program that maintains a database about toxic chemical releases thereby empowering communities to make informed public health decisions. On top of that, Lynda guided three Superfund teams which successfully managed hazardous material contaminated sites cleanup programs and gave pollution prevention advice.
Lynda’s community leadership is a fitting accompaniment to her professional achievements. One of her achievements was the founding of Generation Green in 1990, which is a non-profit organization that aims at educating and inspiring children, local people, and stakeholders within Contra Costa County toward environmentalism. Under her leadership, Generation Green created an initiative called Contra Costa County Climate Leaders Program (4CL). This program enables cities and counties to analyze their greenhouse gas emissions levels as well as create general plans, climate action plans and climate policies.
