A professional engineer, Linda Sell is also a community activist and Councilmember for District 1 in Sunnyvale, California. The best way to describe Linda’s entry into politics is a calling when she saw her son Harrison school district having its budget slashed. This resulted in 107 pink slips being distributed to teachers who would cause inflated class sizes while adversely affecting the quality of education. Even she herself was not left out in the struggle since together with other parents, they raised $2.5 million through their local foundations, including contributions from various business persons within 8 weeks only because the community need not endure these changes which are not good.
She was elected to the Sunnyvale City Council on November 8, 2022 unopposed for reelection and supported by campaign allies such as Ro Khanna, a U. S Representative, Dave Cortese and Josh Becker who are State Senators. Otto Lee, Santa Clara County Supervisor also endorsed her while Mayor Larry Klein from the City of Sunnyvale did too.
